Social entrepreneur Kevin Polk has joined American Tiny House Association as Executive Director. He will lead the organization’s effort to increase the number of legal spaces for tiny house dwellers nationwide.
His previous work includes Founding Executive Director of the Southern Nevada Transit Coalition, where he spearheaded a region-wide effort to save rural public transit, opening the Silver Rider bus system in eight weeks.
After Hurricane Katrina, he launched the New Orleans Furniture Bank, providing donated furniture to more than 5,000 individuals and families in disaster-affected areas.
He also served as founding Executive Director of the Raleigh/Durham, NC branch of Rebuilding Together, and completed more than 60 rebuilding projects during his two year tenure.
For the past several years he has been working on a program that would use tiny houses as affordable housing.
