Ojai, CA City Council meeting June 28, 2016

Ojai, CA City Council meeting June 28, 2016

The Ojai, California Planning Commission has been directed to draft amendments to include tiny homes on wheels as backyard cottages under the Second Dwelling Unit ordinance. Work still needs to be done to define the details of the amendments. Thanks to Vina Lustado and Dan Fitzpatrick for this accomplishment!

Update: November 30, 2016: “Many of you have asked about the status of legalization of tiny houses in Ojai. It has been a long road since we started the process last year in Nov. 2015. We did receive approval from City Council to move forward but the changes have not been finalized. The reality is that many other issues have taken priority (ie: water crisis in Ojai, local elections, etc). As we continue to move forward, we will ask for your support to change the municipal code for second dwelling units.”
